Kiln vent

Ok, after much labored thought and research about how to vent my kiln without spending 3 to 4 hundred dollars, I've come up with this design. Simple and very very cheap! The fan I found at an electronics surplus store for $17.95 and I just had to try this telescoping dryer duct at $14.27 from lowes. I put a couple of legs to stablize it under the holes I drilled in the floor of kiln and hold it just far enough away to get enough fresh air to mix in with the kiln fumes. I'll be venting it out the side of the porch, to my wives dismay I'll have to cut a small hole. Now call me crazy, but I think it just might work. I'll be firing again soon so, cross your fingers.

Mask #2

Mask #2 looks a little evil, but I'm sure I'll feel the need to do some lighter masks sooner or later, maybe even something attractive.

Final destination

And here's a look at my mothers vase filled with cheerful flowers.

Mask Making

I've been meaning to do a series of masks for awhile now, I guess I've started. That's one down and hopefully I'll do at least ten.

Morning drawing

Just some wandering thoughts.

More lights

Light test. I thought the lights would light the figure from underneath in a dramatic way, but they don't seem to reach him up there. So I think he'll need a spot light on him to help with the theater.

Boopa!!!

One of my little helpers, who likes to take away my focus when I'm loading delicate green ware. Awe, but she's so cute!

more stuff

This vase, as you may have guessed is a present for my mother, and this is the card, front and back, I attached. I sent it off to the florist for something pretty to put in it, that can hopefully take some of the edge off of it.

And these are a couple of photoshopped pics, for the hell of it.

Kiln Fun

Here's a little before and after test. I'd like to do more of this, photographing throughout the process. I enjoy looking at it, I hope someone else out there does to.
